 This February Half Term I will be painting a mural with primary and SEN pupils for Sainsbury's in Tadcaster, North Yorkshire. The commission came about through Tadcaster Grammar School and their Partnership Development Faculty, which provides a range of extended year-round services, courses and activities for students and their families with organisations in the local community. . The brief was to create a design that represented the ethos of the supermarket : 'Whether it's helping our customers eat a healthy balanced diet, working closely with our suppliers and farmers, reducing our impact on the environment, playing an active role in the communities we serve, or making Sainsbury's a great place to work, behaving as a responsible retailer is part of our heritage.' There will be 5 day workshops with the local children and their family's, the local police plus the staff at Sainsbury's in order to complete the mural. The whole event will bring together a great community spirit plus help raise pupils self esteem and build confidence and be great fun!   |
